In October of 2022, the January 6th Committee issued a subpoena to President Trump with an extensive list of demands for documents as well as his testimony. President Trumps team filed a suit on separation of powers grounds to block the subpoena and referred to it as ‘illegal’. It appears to have been successful as the committee formally dropped it.
