A letter released by the Jamul-Dulzura Union School District on August 28, 2024, confirms reports from students and parents that groups of migrants attempted to stop and board school buses. Both incidents occurred along bus routes on Highway 94. The letter confirms changes have been made for the safety of the students. Local news reported that if a group of migrants are present at particular a bus-stop, that stop will now be skipped, and the driver will proceed directly to the next stop.
