During President Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress on March 4, 2025 a majority of Democrats refused to stand for a DJ Daniels, a 13 year old child with brain and spinal cancer given just months to live in 2018. DJ was made an honorary member of the Secret Service in a touching moment during the address and while Republicans stood and applauded the vast majority of Democrats remained in their seats and refused to applaud. The Democrats were called out for their behavior nearly instantly on social media and members of their own party. John Fetterman was one case who voiced concern and regret over the situation.
