Amy’s Baking Company in Scottsdale, Arizona, was owned by husband-and-wife co-owners Amanda “Amy” Bouzaglo (née Bossingham) and Salomon “Samy” Bouzaglo. The restaurant became widely known after a 2013 episode of Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares.

• What contemporaneous reporting said in May 2013: Multiple outlets (including USA Today reprinting Arizona Republic reporting, Phoenix New Times, Eater, CBS, and Times of Israel) stated that Samy was in a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement matter seeking to revoke residency, with a removal hearing around Monday, May 20, 2013. Scottsdale immigration attorney David Asser was quoted as representing him, saying the case had run for about two years and was not caused by Kitchen Nightmares. Those same stories described Samy as an Israeli citizen born in Morocco and reported alleged nondisclosure of overseas criminal history. ICE was quoted as declining comment. Samy was quoted as calling immigration status a "sensitive subject" and declining to discuss past records.

We archived a YouTube reupload of a package titled "Samy Bouzaglo of Amy's Baking Company to be Deported" from the Internet Archive (original YouTube id WUNGpoWj10o, archived from a 2016 upload). The clip is street/exterior news coverage. It does not zoom on underlying court filings or play recorded agency calls or emails. • What later secondary coverage said: A 2021 New York Post feature that interviewed Amy about the show also narrates that the couple fought an immigration case for years, that Samy was eventually deported, and that in 2018 they flew to Israel (often Netanya). Arizona Central and other "where are they now" pieces repeat a 2018 Israel move and say Samy remained associated with living there while Amy later returned to the United States and filed for divorce around 2022. Those later accounts largely rest on earlier news chains and social-media location claims. We did not treat them as primary proof of a final removal order or of the exact legal form of exit.
• Who the case was about: On the public record available to us, the removal/residency case was described as against Samy, not Amy. Amy was a U.S.-based co-owner with an American background in local reporting and was not described as the ICE respondent. If both left for Israel, Amy's departure would be by choice relative to that case. We are not asserting U.S. citizenship from a passport or naturalization certificate; only that she was not reported as the removable alien in those 2013 stories.

In plain language: News coverage from 2013 (including a local TV package we archived) supports that Samy Bouzaglo was publicly reported as facing multi-year immigration removal proceedings and a removal hearing that May. Later secondary coverage says the couple went to Israel around 2018 after a deportation outcome.
